TEMPER, PRIDE'S REACTION

When you loose your temper

You loose your thinking faculty

The prophet said you go insane

You’re not what you ought to be

You can’t defend a single word

Or anything you do

When possessed by this condition

There’s no Holy Ghost with you

You enjoy the strength this gives you

You have power to say it all

Though you can’t defend it in the Word

On this spiteful strength you fall

There’s severe unkindness to the saints

Harsh judgements with intention

Not the smiling face you took

To the last convention

You become bitter of severity

From real or supposed

Ill treatment that you think you got

When your opinions were opposed

I suspect that pride and temper

Live together side by side

That temper is provoked by it

But behind it pride can hide

Temper, one of prides reactions

When one disagreed with daring

Your opinions that you elevate

So you cut them without caring

Behaviour that’s disgraceful

You do your testimony harm

Because there’s no humility

And when ruffled can’t stay calm

Self controls not good enough

Don’t carry Satan’s load

Then when under pressure

You’ll stay sweet and not explode.

 Did you ever see a person have a temper fit? Well, that's just what it is. That's just them devils. That's what happened to them. You ever see one of them having a temper fit, you say, "Oh, uh-huh, I know what happened in Gadara now." See? That's just exactly. Just a few more come in there, run him completely insane; 'cause the medical doctor will tell you that temper is the first stage of insanity. That's what Mayo says, the first stage of insanity.
